late afternoon

I love a walk in the afternoon. The soft light calls me out. Today was very cold, but indeed pretty. It snowed again last night and everything was more attractive for it. The sun was shining through the clouds off and on, and when I could, I'd try and catch its pretty light. The wind blew strong across the snowy field making it look like a cracked salt plain. Once home, I bottled up all the light I collected on my walk, so I would always remember the beauty of winter.

Depsite the gloomy and cold british weather this past weekend I was on a mission to discover some new subjects to photograph. So Mr Moss and I walked down many country foot paths, crossed many muddy fields, and when we just as we started to lose the feeling in our toes, we found this little sweetie and a few of her horsey friends. She walked straight up to us thinking we might feed her. We had nothing to give her, so she munched happily on some low hanging branches instead. Maybe next time I'll remember to bring some apples with me.
